Human-guided autonomy
Interfaces that help people specify goals, preferences, and corrections to autonomous systems.

I'm a first-year Computer Science Ph.D. student at George Mason University, working with Dr. David Porfirio in the Autonomous Robot Interaction (ARI) Laboratory. My research interests center on human-robot interaction, with a broader interest in building intelligent systems that people can understand, guide, and trust.
Since Fall 2026, I have been pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science at George Mason University, researching human-robot interaction with Dr. David Porfirio at the ARI Lab.
Research direction
I am interested in how people communicate intent to autonomous systems, understand their behavior, and retain meaningful control. My background in immersive interaction and human-in-the-loop AI gives me a foundation for studying these questions in HRI.
Interfaces that help people specify goals, preferences, and corrections to autonomous systems.
Mixed-initiative systems that explain recommendations and preserve human approval for consequential actions.
Using VR and interactive prototypes to study behavior, affect, spatial understanding, and trust.
Designed and built human-in-the-loop AI products whose recommendations expose supporting evidence and require human approval before sensitive actions. Implemented the frontend, backend, multi-tenant data layer, LLM routing, evaluation, and deployment.
